Lifebrief
Coming summer 2026 · iOS first

The vault you fill in once,so they aren’t left guessing.

Lifebrief is a private, encrypted home for the things your family will need but you have never written down. Accounts, passwords, instructions, letters, wishes. One calm place. Ready.

End-to-end encrypted. Made in the UK by Antler Labs.

Most of us leave a mess behind. Not on purpose. We just never sat down to write it.

The bank logins. The investment accounts you opened a decade ago and never logged into since. The subscriptions still pulling from your card. The photos worth keeping. The letter you have meant to write to your child for years.

These things sit in our heads and across a dozen apps and old emails. Easy enough for us, impossible for anyone else.

Lifebrief is the once-and-done place to put all of it. So when the people you trust need to find something, they can.

How Lifebrief works

Three steps. Then done.

Open the app. Walk through what is relevant. Choose who you trust. Hand them the brief. Done.

01

Fill in once.

Open the app. Walk through the categories. Add what is relevant. Skip what is not. Most people get the essentials covered in an hour or so. You can come back and add more whenever.

02

Choose who you trust.

Nominate two or more people. We cryptographically split a recovery key between them. No one of them can access your vault alone, but together they can. You decide how many are needed.

03

Hand them the brief.

Lifebrief generates a one-page letter of instructions. Print it. Keep it with your will. The people you trust have everything they need to find what you have stored.

Security

Private by mathematics, not by promise.

The encrypted vault contents never leave your device in a form anyone else can read. Your passphrase derives a key using Argon2id, the modern memory-hard standard, designed to resist brute-force at scale. Your vault is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the same encryption the US government uses for classified information.

We do not hold your key. We cannot read your vault. We have built the product so we genuinely cannot, not because we promise to be nice, but because the cryptography prevents it.

If a court asks us for your data, we will comply with what we hold: an opaque blob of ciphertext and an email address. If our servers are breached tomorrow, the attacker takes the same opaque blob and gets nothing from it. The privacy guarantee is mathematical, not editorial.

What is inside a Lifebrief

Everything they would otherwise be guessing at, organised the way you would lay it out yourself.

Lifebrief organises things into categories so you are not staring at an empty box. Add what is relevant. Skip the rest.

Questions worth answering

Before you put anything in.

The six things people ask before they open the app. Honest answers, no fluff.

What happens if I forget my passphrase?+
You have three layers of protection: your passphrase, your 24-word recovery phrase, and your trusted contacts. If you forget your passphrase, your recovery phrase decrypts the vault. If you lose your recovery phrase too, your trusted contacts can combine their shares to reconstruct your access. If all three layers fail at once, the vault becomes permanently unrecoverable. That is the trade-off for a system where we genuinely cannot read your data: we genuinely cannot recover it for you either.
Why not just use a password manager?+
A good password manager does part of what Lifebrief does. It is the right tool for storing logins. Lifebrief is broader, for the things password managers do not cover: documents you would want your family to find, letters you have meant to write, instructions for after, wishes you would hate to leave unsaid. If you use a password manager already, keep it. Lifebrief sits alongside, not on top.
Can you read my data?+
No. By design. Your vault is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your passphrase. The key never leaves your device. We hold ciphertext and only ciphertext. We cannot read your contents. We cannot decrypt them on demand. We cannot help anyone else read them either.
What if Antler Labs goes out of business?+
We would give 90 days notice in-app and by email, and provide an export tool so you can download your encrypted vault and decryption material. Your data stays yours. Because the encryption is on-device, you do not actually need our servers to access your vault. They exist for sync between your devices, not as a custodian.
Where is my data stored?+
On your device, plus optionally synced to Google Cloud EU multi-region (Frankfurt, Belgium, Netherlands) as ciphertext. Not the US. Not anywhere outside the EU. UK GDPR and EU GDPR jurisdiction throughout.
